1.
- A person may be registered on the Medical Education Register as a Medical Student if he is a student enrolled at a medical school acceptable to Council and is undertaking a program of undergraduate training acceptable to Council.
- A person may be registered on the Medical Education Register as a Clinical Trainee if he is undertaking a program of clinical elective, skill enhancement or upgrading, evaluation or a program for any such other purpose as Council deems appropriate.
- A person registered under this part may only practise medicine under the control, direction, and authority of a physician duly licensed and registered on the Medical Register.
- No member shall direct or supervise a Medical Student or Clinical Trainee unless the latter is registered on the Medical Education Register.
- No person registered under this part shall sign any prescription, document or any other paper which under the Medical Act, these Regulations and By-Laws, or any other Act or Regulations, requires the signature of a licensed medical practitioner.
2.
- A person may be registered on the Medical Education Register as a Postgraduate Trainee if he is a graduate of a medical school acceptable to Council and enrolled in a program of pre-registration or post-graduate training acceptable to Council.
- A person registered under this part may only practise medicine in the course of and within the terms of his or her respective training program.
