At the conclusion of a highly competitive national search, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick (CPSNB) is pleased to officially announce the appointment of Dr. Mahamadou Douaré as the new Deputy Registrar for CPSNB.

Dr. Douaré has served as Director of Registration at CPSNB for the past two and a half years, during which time he has played a pivotal role in modernizing the College’s registration and licensing processes. His leadership was instrumental in the development and launch of New Brunswick’s first Practice Ready Assessment (PRA) Program, a key initiative to support the integration of internationally trained physicians into the provincial healthcare system. He also played a key role in leading CPSNB’s onboarding into both the Atlantic Registry and the National Registry of Physicians, marking significant milestones in the College’s modernization journey.

An internationally trained physician with a Doctorate of Medicine from Mali and a Master’s in Health Administration from Université de Moncton, Dr. Douaré brings a unique blend of clinical, regulatory, and administrative expertise. His career spans over a decade in healthcare, including roles in quality improvement, medical education, and strategic planning within the Vitalité Health Network.

Dr. Douaré is known for his collaborative leadership style, cross-cultural fluency, and unwavering commitment to public protection and regulatory excellence. He has actively supported the former Deputy Registrar, contributed to Council meeting preparation, and represented the College at both provincial and national levels. Dr. Douaré’s deep understanding of the College’s operations, values, and vision makes him exceptionally well-positioned to support its mission and lead in this expanded capacity.

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Douaré on his appointment. We look forward to his continued contributions to the College’s leadership and long-term success.
